Senior Developer (5–8 years). Builds custom modules, themes with Twig, content models and migrations in Drupal 10 or 11, using Composer, Drush and configuration management.
Lead / Architect (8+ years). Owns platform architecture, multisite, decoupled front ends, performance, security and large migrations from Drupal 7 or other CMSs.
Drupal 7 migrations. Moving content, users and functionality to Drupal 10 or 11
Custom modules. Business features written as clean, testable modules
Decoupled Drupal. Drupal as a content API for React or Next.js front ends
Upgrades and maintenance. Version upgrades, security updates and performance tuning
Week one. They review the codebase, modules, configuration workflow and hosting.
Weeks two and three. First fixes or features delivered through Composer and configuration management.
Week four. A written plan for upgrades, migrations or clean-up.
Rebuilding Drupal 7 exactly. A migration is a chance to simplify content types and modules.
Skipping configuration management. Config should move through code, not be clicked in production.
Too many contributed modules. Each one needs maintenance. Keep the list lean.
