A shortlist typically within 72 hours, usually contributing inside two weeks, and 30-day replacement support if the fit is wrong (terms in your agreement).

Most teams don’t decide to have a reliability problem. They ship features, traffic grows, and one day the on-call rota is the most stressful part of the job. Alerts fire constantly, half of them meaningless. Postmortems are written and forgotten. The same outage happens twice.
A senior SRE changes the shape of that work. They define what “reliable enough” means with service level objectives, cut alert noise, automate the repetitive fixes and make sure lessons from incidents turn into engineering work.
Defining service levels with product teams and using error budgets to make decisions.
Metrics, logs and traces that lead to root causes quickly.
Calm, structured incident response and useful postmortems.
Python or Go tooling that removes repetitive manual work.
Kubernetes, cloud networking and databases under load.
Forecasting load and testing limits before customers find them.
Burned-out engineers. Noisy alerts and frequent night pages push good people to leave.
Lost revenue and trust. Outages that last hours because nobody can see what is happening cost customers.
Slow delivery. When reliability is managed by fear, teams freeze releases instead of making them safer.
Every engineer we put forward has at least five years of hands-on experience. Within that, here is how the levels differ.
Senior SRE (5–8 years). Builds observability with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or Datadog, writes automation in Python or Go, and runs incident response. Comfortable with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
SRE Lead (8+ years). Defines SLOs and error budgets with product teams, designs on-call and incident processes, leads capacity planning and reliability reviews.
SLOs and error budgets. Agreeing what reliable means for each service and tracking it honestly
Observability. Metrics, logs and traces that show causes, not just symptoms
Incident response. On-call design, runbooks, blameless postmortems and follow-up tracking
Toil reduction. Automating the manual fixes and deployments that eat engineering time
Week one. They review alerts, dashboards, recent incidents and the on-call experience.
Weeks two and three. First improvements: noisy alerts removed, key dashboards built, a runbook for the most common incident.
Week four. Draft SLOs for your most important services and a ranked list of reliability work.
Renaming ops as SRE. SRE is an engineering role. Without time to fix root causes, it becomes on-call with a new title.
Alerting on everything. Alerts should be tied to user impact. Noise trains people to ignore pages.
Postmortems without follow-up. Action items need owners and deadlines, or the same incident repeats.
