Senior Engineers from India for US Teams

IT staff augmentation for American startups and enterprises. Vetted engineers with five or more years of experience, a shortlist typically in 72 hours and month-to-month terms.

This page covers what US teams usually ask before they hire from India: working hours, contracts, payments and data. If something here doesn't match your situation, ask us and we'll give you a straight answer.

US companies have hired engineers from India for decades, so the model itself isn’t new. What has changed is how it is done. A good engineer now joins your Slack, your standups and your pull request reviews, and is managed by your team like anyone else. The days of sending a spec offshore and waiting a month are mostly over, and the engagements that still work that way are the ones that tend to fail.

Our work is staff augmentation: senior engineers who join your team for as long as you need them. Everyone we put forward has at least five years of hands-on experience, and you interview them yourself.

Working Hours and Overlap

India Standard Time is 9.5 hours ahead of US Eastern time in summer and 10.5 hours ahead in winter, because India doesn’t change its clocks. Against the West Coast the gap is 12.5 to 13.5 hours.

East Coast teams usually get three to four hours of live overlap each morning. Engineers start in the Indian afternoon and work into the evening, which covers your standup and the first part of your day.

West Coast and Central teams get less natural overlap. It works when the engineer takes a later shift or when your team holds one fixed call a day. Either way, we agree the hours in writing before the engagement starts.

The time difference also has an upside. Work handed over at the end of your day is often reviewed or done by the time you log back on.

Contracts and Payments

You sign a services agreement with us, with a statement of work for each engineer. The engineer is engaged through us in India, so there is no US payroll, no benefits administration and no contractor classification question on your side.

IP and confidentiality. The agreement assigns all work product and intellectual property to your company. An NDA is signed before anyone gets access to your code or systems.

Invoicing. We invoice monthly for the hours worked. Because you are paying a foreign company for services performed outside the US, vendors normally provide a Form W-8BEN-E for your records. Your accountant can confirm what your finance team needs.

Terms. Month to month, no lock-in and no exit penalty.

Data, Security and Compliance

Engineers work inside your environment: your accounts, your VPN, your repositories, with the access you choose to give. Access is removed the day an engagement ends. Our security and compliance page sets out exactly what we do and don’t hold.

We don’t hold SOC 2 or HIPAA attestations, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If your work touches health records, payment data or other regulated information, tell us at the start. We’ll talk through what controls you need, and in many cases the cleanest answer is to give engineers masked or test data rather than production records.

Roles US Teams Ask For Most

See all 72 roles we hire for.

How an Engagement Starts

1. A 30-minute call. We learn the role, the stack and how your team works, and agree the overlap hours you need.

2. A shortlist, typically in 72 hours. Three to five profiles we’d stand behind, each with notes on why they fit.

3. Your interviews. You run your own technical rounds and make the call.

4. Start inside two weeks. Contracts, NDA and access are sorted, and the engineer joins your next sprint.

If the fit is wrong in the first 30 days, replacement candidates are typically presented at no extra cost. The cost guide shows how the numbers compare with hiring in-house.

FAQs

Questions from US Teams

How much overlap will we get with the East Coast?

Usually three to four hours each morning, Eastern time. More can be arranged with a later shift, and we agree the hours before the engagement starts.

Can engineers work West Coast hours?

Partly. Full Pacific hours would mean working through the Indian night, which rarely lasts. Most West Coast teams use one or two hours of daily overlap plus clear written handovers.

Who owns the code?

You do. The services agreement assigns all work product and intellectual property to your company, and an NDA is signed before access is granted.

Do we need to set anything up for payroll or taxes?

No payroll setup. The engineer is engaged through us, and you pay a monthly invoice. Ask your accountant about the vendor paperwork your finance team keeps on file.

Can you work with health or financial data?

We don't hold HIPAA or SOC 2 attestations. For regulated data, tell us at the start and we'll agree the right controls, often masked or test data in place of production records.

How long does it take to start?

A shortlist typically within 72 hours of the first call, and most engineers are contributing inside two weeks of being chosen.
